Heyyyyy....the name is Tonia. You have probably met me before, but if not - welcome to my blog. I know blogging likely isn't a "thing" anymore, but I spent over a decade blogging to leave a journal to my kids and some fun things to let my clients know more about me to make it personal, and so we can chat during our sessions and so you can KNOW who's photographing YOUR baby and YOUR memories on a personal level. But that blog was destroyed with my host company got hacked and lost EVERYTHING. TEN years of blogging - gone!
So over the last few years I gave up doing anything personal. What if it happens again? But you know what? Life is short...and it COULD happen again. Maybe when I give up photography....and give up my domain name. Who knows. What I DO know is I love to write. I may not be good at it but yet here we are.
My first personal post will be of these beautiful souls. My daughter who graduated her collage program yesterday and her grandmother. Maime. Maime has dementia now and just turned 90 this year. She's been moved into a nursing home recently and I just had to capture the bond - and tell you just how proud I am of my baby girl. Though she is going through her first real heart break, she showed up. She showed kindness. She smiled. She made it another day - and she showed love through it all.
I cried on my way home because of this. She is SUCH a joy to me. She's my whole heart. My heart is SCREAMING pride!
And Maime...who I haven't seen in over 10 years is just as beautiful and precious to me as she's always been. I love her to pieces and am so glad I got to see her again.. <3
I could keep writing, but for now, I will just sit with these images and love these women for all they are.
I will say that I am super tired of Dementia. It's all around me and it's heart breaking...
