  • Welcome to my blog!

    Hi! Welcome to the new blog home of Delicate Impressions Photography! My name is Tonia, and newborns are my specialty! I have a passion for photography and more specifically, wedding, maternity and newborn photography! I am also a paramedic (which is actually my full time job!). Someday I might give that part of my life up but for now - since I love both my job and my passion - I get the best of both worlds!

    Some fun facts about me: I love PICKLES! I also love Hansen Meats Beef Jerkey! I have tried the P90X and though love trying new work out programs...I also gave up LOL! I have a 12-year-old Monkey--oops, daughter, and 2 stepkids (15 and 17). My husband shoots every wedding with me (has only missed one). Blue is my favorite color, 7 is my favorite number and I absolutely hate missing church! I attend Gateway Caledonia and it is AWESOME! I also can't cook! I like to try - but I can't. I have a love-hate relationship with my hair! If it's dark, I want it light, if I have bangs, I want to grow them out - but when they grow out - I want them back! I have short hair but wish it was long again and once it's long, I'll likely chop it off thinking I want it to be short!

    That's me in a nutshell :) I love when you leave LOVIN on the blog and I love to check facebook daily to see if there are any new fans! I love photography - every aspect of it! I also love to share information with new photographers. I'll answer any questions and am happy to do it! I have been inspired by many and hope to do the same :)

    Thanks for visiting! oh - and leave some lovin! (did I mention that already) hee hee hee...

365 – 108 {May 13}

It’s hard to believe I have blogged 108 images / stories from my 365 day project.  I have not been able to keep it up everyday (clearly as this is 134th day of the year (lol), but it’s been fun and I love when I’m able to capture at least SOMETHING from our week.  Today we celebrate mother’s day.  I had a beautiful day with my family starting with breakfast in bed from Mia and Will.  Coffee (LOVE), blueberry muffin (LOVE) bacon (LOVE) – though a weird mix of food lol – and lindor chocolate ( L O V E ).  Followed by a huge amount of cards and bristol board art / coupons…from Mia…

We spent the evening outside with the parents, dogs and just playing games.

Triplets – Home at last {Hamilton Ontario Multiples Photographer}

It has been a long time coming for these beautiful, gorgeous babies…both for the family who tried so hard to get them here, and for the pictures we so desperately wanted to capture their miraculous life with.  These three babies are shear miracles!  Right after mom’s maternity session in December, she was put to immediate bed rest…and unfortunately, these little one’s didn’t want to wait to come into the world.  Born at less than 30 weeks, their weights were all under 2.5 pounds, with prince Vaughn being the smallest at 1 pound 12 ounces.  I admit that I did not think they would all make it because I have never personally seen a baby that was only a pound!  We sent out lots of prayers, and God answered.  Vaughn and Jillian were able to come home mid April, but little Emmy (who was the biggest baby of the three at 2 pounds 4 ounces) still couldn’t quite get a grasp on feeding and had to stay in the hospital.  Bitter sweet for mom and dad who got to take 2 babies home…but heart breaking to leave Emmy there.  FINALLY – after almost 17 weeks – ALL babies got to be home.  They are doing fantastic!! They are now over 4 months old (corrected age of 6 weeks) and they did way better in the session than I had expected!  I am so thrilled, and so in love with the story of this family.

Congratulations Jen and Jeremy!  Thank you for letting me be a part of this amazing journey with you…(I can’t wait to see you all again at our next session)!!

These babies just melt my heart…

Baby Willow – her birth and her newborn sneak peak…. {Hamilton Ontario Birth Photographer}

I can honestly say there is nothing in the world like watching the birth of a baby…it was such a pleasure and an amazing experience working on Tuesday night to capture the birth of this beautiful little girl who at 1:37am early Wednesday morning, was welcomed into this world – and given the name “Willow”.

This was my first home birth experience and it was everything I hoped it would be…there were laughs, cries, tears, sweat …and an overwhelming sense of togetherness, love and peace.  It was such an AMAZING experience. I still can’t believe I was a part of it.  Willow turned 2 days old today and came for her photography debut.  She was amazing…but lets take you back into the adventure of bringing this baby girl into the world, and meet the parents who let all of us be a part of it…

Meet Jenn, Jeff, Sage…and their newest addition – Willow <3

and today…she was just as perfect as she was just over 48 hours ago….

…and if she is anything like her big brother – she is going to be one gorgeous kid!

Thank you so much for having me be a part of this experience with you Jenn & Jeff…thank you for welcoming me into your home (and for not yelling at me when my camera continuously went off!) (and thank you for the little present today too – that was so kind!)…

Tropical baby…

Well not really a tropical baby…but remember the wedding from last year in the Dominican?  Well, Mike and April are now expecting their fist baby – a boy!  Due in June, I’m so excited to meet this baby boy!!

Isn’t she gorgeous?
